hi, hello there, i'm glad you're here!  i'm karie, the owner, designer, and maker at golden coast. 

i've had a lifelong love affair with shiny pretty things, sneaking vintage rings and necklaces from my mom's collection at a young age so i could wear them to school. early on, i discovered that making jewelry was a deeply satisfying process, and i could.not.get.enough.  picking out the perfect beads, thinking up a design, and reworking it as i went along until it was "just so" was a calming ritual.  a way to tune out the outside world, channel my creative energy, and take advantage of my left brain tendencies.  

fast forward a few decades later, and here i am with a degree in art history, years of experience working the corporate side of retail, married with two kids and a pup - realizing my deep seated dream of a career in the arts. 

thankfully my aesthetic and quality of materials have evolved & elevated significantly from back in the days of my youth😉. 

today, i work with precious and semi-precious gemstones, along with gold-filled components to make jewelry that evokes my west coast sense of style.  a style that's born out of growing up next to the sun soaked beaches of southern california and later putting down roots in the moodier pacific northwest.  i love the ease of elevating my laid-back daily uniform of jeans & t's with a colorful pop of luxe jewelry and a decadent accessory.
